APR Twin Peaks: A Day of Determination and Sportsmanship
Alpine Performance Racing was proud to host the first leg of the Twin Peaks Dry Slope Competition, bringing together athletes from across the dry slope racing community for a fantastic day of racing.
With over 170 racers competing across categories from Under 10s through to Senior level, the event showcased the talent, dedication, and sportsmanship that make our sport so special. It was inspiring to see athletes representing their home clubs come together to compete, support one another, and celebrate their shared passion for ski racing.
Minis Programme
The day began with the Minis programme, and the youngest racers set the tone with incredible enthusiasm and energy. The standard of racing on display was exceptional, with athletes demonstrating impressive skill, confidence, and determination throughout the competition.
Thanks to the smooth running of the event and the cooperation of everyone involved, the schedule ran ahead of plan. This allowed us to offer the Minis three race runs instead of the planned two, providing valuable additional race experience. The athletes made the most of the opportunity, with each run showcasing continued improvement and competitive spirit.
U14 to Senior Programme
The strong performances continued throughout the afternoon as the U14 to Senior athletes took to the course. Competitors demonstrated outstanding determination and resilience, delivering some excellent racing performances across all age categories.
The high level of competition, combined with the positive atmosphere and sportsmanship shown by all athletes, made for an exciting and enjoyable day of racing.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
Events like the Twin Peaks Competition simply would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time to support the event. From timing officials and start referees to finish referees, gate judges, and all those working behind the scenes, your efforts ensured the day ran safely, efficiently, and successfully. Your contribution is invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
Special Recognition
A special mention goes to Zoe Bruce, one of APR's former FIS athletes, who had the opportunity to set her first-ever seeded race course. Zoe did an outstanding job, creating a challenging and enjoyable course that received excellent feedback from competitors and coaches alike.
Congratulations and thank you, Zoe, for your contribution to a successful event.
We would also like to thank all athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters for making the first leg of the Twin Peaks Competition such a memorable occasion. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the next round of racing.
